I know it's been some time. But with a the move and getting settled it's been a little busy around at the Ross'. And let's not talk about the fact that we haven't agreed on a name for the house yet. (Yes we are that extra!)
But I couldn't leave you all hanging without giving you a few drink choices for the Christmas holiday. There are billions of recipes around Pinterest if you just type Christmas drink recipes, but here are some of the top finds and some our choices. I'm not going to make this a long post so let's jump right in!
Cranberry Peppermint Mimosa
3 oz Champagne or Prosecco
2 oz Cranberry Juice
1 drop Peppermint Extract
1/2 oz St. Germain
I will be the first to admit I'm a much heavy pourer than the measurements I gave above. This is a drink I came up with after having a mimosa with a peppermint stick added and loved it. Pour the cranberry and the St. Germain in the glass first, add your peppermint and top with champagne. A peppermint stick or a mini candy cane can be added for garnishment. But this simple mimosa is perfect for Christmas morning with a casserole or an overnight oatmeal mix.
Sugar Cookie Martini
1.5 oz Vanilla Vodka
1,5 oz Baileys
.75 one Amaretto
1 tsp Confectioner's Sugar
3 tbsp milk or Half & Half
Garnishments
Sprinkles
Vanilla Icing
Dip rim of the martini glass in the icing until it's covered. Add sprinkles until fully coated. Add all items in a shaker with ice and shake. Pour into glass and done.
Caramel Apple Fire
Shot of Fireball Whiskey
Redd's or Angry Orchard Ale
Caramel
Dash of Cinnamon
Another simple drink that will add to your night of Christmas movies. Drizzle the caramel along the inside of your glass. Pour the bottle or can of ale in the glass, followed by the shot of Fireball Whiskey. Top with the cinnamon dash for the perfect touch to this warm caramel apple drink.
The Infamous Grinch Cocktail
1 1/2 oz Midori Liqueur
1 oz Rum (Can be replaced with Vodka/Triple Sec)
5 oz Lemon Lime Soda
1 Maraschino Cherry (optional)
Fill glass with ice. Add all liquid ingredients and stir gently. Top with cherry. The lemon lime soda can also be replaced with lime sherbet for a frostier drink, don't add ice if doing it this way.
Jack Frost Cocktail
1 cup pineapple juice
1/2 cup Blue Curacao Liquor
1/2 cup light rum
1/2 cup cream of coconut
Ice
Rim of Glass
Light Corn Syrup
Coconut Flakes
I can honestly say I have NEVER tried this drink. I'm not a fan of coconut. So here is the recipe. Rim the glass with a layer of corn syrup followed by the coconut flakes. Blend ice with the other ingredients to pour and serve.
Let's just say this If you aren't having this much fun when preparing, serving and drinking this cocktails. You are definitely making them wrong! Enjoy your time with family and friends if they are in your bubble. And remember to be safe!
